THREE CHARGED WITH FELONIOUS BREAKING AND ENTERING TO MOTOR VEHICLE

April 1-Two men have been arrested by the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office in connection with a breaking and entering to a motor vehicle that occurred on Brittany Lane in Northern Chatham County. Jeremy Tharp, 29, of 83 Brittany Lane, Chapel Hill; Warren Ray Pittman Jr, 42 and Anthony Pittman, 16; both of 81 Jordan North, Chapel Hill were arrested this week and charged with Felonious Breaking and Entering to a Motor Vehicle, Injury to Personal Property and Larceny.

The incident was reported by Ann Blackwood of Chapel Hill on March 21. She reported to officers that 3 unknown subjects had broken into a vehicle owned by her that was located behind a barn located on her property.  She confronted the subjects and advised them to leave immediately and later called Chatham County Sheriff’s deputies. She also reported the suspects were stealing metal from the vehicle. Deputies found the subjects next door and began to investigate the report.

All three men were later charged and released on unsecured bonds; Tharp $5,000.00 and the Pittmans, $500.00. All are scheduled to appear in Chatham County District Court in Pittsboro on April 9.
