August 9- Deputies from the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Chapel Hill man on felony drug charges after a traffic stop was conducted in the Harris Teeter Parking Lot in Northern Chatham County. Deputy Philip Richard stopped Timothy Matthews, 44, of 291-A Collins Mountain Road, Chapel Hill on Thursday and found his driver’s license was revoked.
Matthews admitted that he had drugs on his person and they were seized. Deputy Richard collected 5 rocks of Cocaine and arrested Matthews for Felonious Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Cocaine, Possession of Cocaine and Driving While License Revoked. He was jailed under a $15,000.00 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in Chatham County District Court in Pittsboro on August 29.
