BEAR CREEK MAN ARRESTED FOR FELONIOUS ASSAULT

Joseph Fulford JrAugust 8- A Bear Creek man was arrested Wednesday morning after deputies searched for him for almost a week. Chatham County Deputies responded to an assault call at Chatham Hospital on August 2nd and found Robin Fulford there with a head injury. She stated that her husband, Joseph Fulford Jr., 40 of 200 Sunny Slope Road, Bear Creek, assaulted her with a frying pan and threatened her. She left the home and found a ride to the hospital. Deputies went back to locate him but couldn’t. Ms. Fulford was treated and released and warrants were obtained by Deputy John Stauffer on Fulford.

Fulford was located at his residence on Wednesday and arrested without incident. He was charged with Felonious Assault with a Deadly Weapon With Intent to Kill Inflicting Serious Injury, Communicating Threats and Possession of Marijuana. He was jailed under a 48-hour lockup and is scheduled to appear in Chatham County District Court in Siler City on August 14.
