SILER CITY WOMAN ARRESTED ON FELONY FORGERY CHARGES

August 7-Susan Elkins, 46, of 13018 Siler City Glendon Road, Siler City was arrested on Tuesday by the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office. The arrest was a result of a one month-long investigation conducted by the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office, Criminal Investigation Division.

Elkins is accused of stealing and cashing a refund check in the amount of $300.00 on the account of her ex husband, Thomas Elkins of Piedmont, South Carolina without his permission. Elkins was arrested by Detective Mike Szpunar without incident and charged with Felonious Forgery and Uttering. She was released under a written promise and is scheduled to appear in Chatham County District Court in Siler City on August 21.
