BEAR CREEK MAN CHARGED WITH SEX CRIMES

August 24- A Bear Creek man was arrested on Friday for 7 counts of Felonious First Degree Sex Offense on a Child, 6 counts of Felonious Indecent Liberties with a Child and 3 counts of Felonious Display of Harmful Materials to a Minor when he was accused of having sexual contact with a 9-year-old female child. Chatham County Deputies began working the case last year when they received information that Moore County Sheriff’s Office was working a similar case that involved a victim in Chatham County. The victim accused suspect that he touched her inappropriately on several occasions. The incident took place in the Bennett area.

Roy Conoly, 63, of 1861 Wilson Road, Bear Creek was charged with the above crimes and was jailed under a $300,000.00 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in Chatham County District Court in Pittsboro on September 12.
