August 2- Chatham County Deputies arrested Dalton Siler, 29, 599 Airport Road, Siler City on Thursday for Felonious Possession of a Firearm by a Felon, Carrying a Concealed Weapon, and Violation of a Domestic Violence Order. Chatham County Deputies responded to Airport Road in reference to a shots fired call and witnesses advised that the suspect, Dalton Siler fired a weapon in the area. Siler left in a grey Volkswagen Jetta, and was stopped a short distance away by deputies responding to the scene.
While investigating the incident, deputies found that Martha Peoples was in the vehicle with him and he had a Domestic Violence Protection Order against him concerning Ms. Peoples. Deputies arrested Siler for the Violation and later found a concealed 12 gauge shotgun inside the passenger area. Siler is a past convicted felon and therefore was arrested by Deputy Brian Overman and Sergeant Chris Cooper for the above charges.
Siler was jailed under a $10,000.00 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in Chatham County District Court in Siler City on August 7.
