August 7- The Chatham County Sheriff's Office arrested Robert Person, 54, of 240 Fletcher Siler Road, Siler City on a number of Felony charges Tuesday morning after responding to a domestic disturbance call at his residence. Siler City Police Sergeant Jimmy Bowden assisted deputies with the call and upon his arrival on scene, saw Person throw a small bag down on the ground. Chatham County ICE Team member David Scott responded and recovered the bag and received consent to search the home. Deputies located 1 marijuana plant growing near the home and a shotgun inside the bedroom. Officers seized the shotgun because Person is a convicted felon and is forbidden to possess any firearm. They also seized 2.46 grams of Cocaine, Metal scales, a police scanner and $253.00 in currency.
Person was arrested without incident and charged with Felonious Possession of Cocaine, Felonious Manufacturing of Marijuana, Felonious Maintaining a Dwelling for Controlled Substances, Felonious Possession of a Firearm by a Felon and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was jailed under a $75,000.00 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in Chatham County District Court in Pittsboro on August 7.
