TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO DRUG ARREST

John HaithcoxJune 30- Deputies from the Chatham County Sheriff’s Narcotics Division   arrested a Sanford man on a felony drug charge after a traffic stop was conducted on Haywood Road near Moncure in Southern Chatham County.

Deputies seized .9 grams of cocaine and a smoking pipe during the stop. John Haithcox, 44, of 6066 Lower River Road, Sanford was arrested without incident and charged with Felonious Possession of Cocaine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was jailed under a $1,500.00 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in Chatham County District Court in Pittsboro on July 18.
