DEPUTIES ARREST CHAPEL HILL MAN ON COCAINE CHARGES

Rahkid ByrdJune 26- The Chatham County Sheriff's Office Narcotics Unit with the assistance of the Sheriff’s Office Special Incident Response Team (SIRT) and the Interstate Criminal Enforcement (ICE) Team executed a search warrant at 56 Blacknell Drive, Chapel Hill in Northern Chatham County. The warrant was a result of a 2 week long undercover drug operation where undercover agents purchased cocaine from that same address.  The resident, Rahkid Byrd, 20, was arrested without incident and charged with Felonious Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Cocaine, Felonious Possession of Cocaine, Felonious Maintaining a Dwelling for Controlled Substances, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Failing to Appear in Court.

Amount of cocaine seized during the operation was 4.3 grams. Deputies also recovered $104.00 in cash.

Byrd was jailed under a $10,000.00 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in Chatham County District Court in Pittsboro on July 25.
