BEAR CREEK MAN ARRESTED FOR POSSESSING STOLEN PROPERTY

George BrimMay 22- The Chatham County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Bear Creek man on Tuesday evening for possession a stolen ATV. On July 4th, 2006, James Gilliland Jr., of Callicutt Road, Bear Creek reported a larceny of a 1998 Honda Fourtrax ATV from his residence to the Sheriff’s Office. Detective Brandon Jones received information in January of this year of the location of the 4 wheeler and recovered it at a residence off of May’s Chapel Road in Southern Chatham County. The $3,000.00 ATV was secured and later returned to the owner. A warrant was later issued on George Brim, 56, of 470 May’s Chapel Road, Bear Creek for possessing the property.

Deputy Mike Garbarino arrested Brim without incident for Felonious Possession of Stolen Property. He was released under a $2,000.00 unsecured bond and is scheduled to appear in Chatham County District Court in Pittsboro on May 23.
