May12-Chatham County deputies responded to Red Pine Road in Northern Chatham County on Saturday morning to inquire on the well-being of a woman who her parents said haven’t heard from since last weekend. Deputies found the body of a white female at in the home and are investigate the case as a homicide. The body was found deceased around 9:10 am. Personal information of the victim will be withheld until notification of parents and positive identification of the body. The SBI Mobile Crime Lab has been called in to assist in the investigation. The victim will be transported to the State Medical Examiners Office in Chapel Hill for autopsy. No further at this time. I plan to make another release around 6:30 pm.

The victim is believed to be Tracy Baldwin, W/F, 38, of 29 Red Pine Road, Chapel Hill…. It is estimated that the time of death is within the last 48 hours. It is still unclear how she died but she was found in her bed. The medical examiner will conduct an autopsy tomorrow and will give us a better idea of the cause of death.
