SHERIFF’S DEPUTIES ARREST TWO FOR BREAKING AND ENTERING

April 30-Two men have been arrested in connection with a breaking and entering that occurred on Monday near Siler City. Scott Alan Gee, 21, of 6228 Carl Brady Road, Bennett and Stephen Lopez, 18, of 6816 Dusty Trail Road, Bennett were taken into custody by Deputy Chris Fowler when they were attempting to sell engine parts, antiques, household items, and tools as scrap metal to Bish Enterprises, located on Bish Road near Siler City.  Parts and antiques were found to be worth from $1500 to $2000 and were taken from an outbuilding/storage shed located at 2815 West Third Street, Siler City which belonged to Scott A Gee’s deceased grandfather. 

Detective Mike Szpunar was subsequently called and pursuant to his follow-up investigation, charged the two men with Felonious Breaking and Entering, Felonious Larceny and Felonious Possession of Stolen Goods.     

Gee was jailed under a $9,000.00 secured bond and Lopez was released to a relative. Both are scheduled to appear in Chatham County District Court in Siler City on May 8.
