ROBBERY SUSPECT SOUGHT IN SOUTHERN CHATHAM COUNTY 

April 24-At approximately 10:55 am, the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office received an Armed Robbery Call from the Post Office in Moncure. A single suspect entered the Post Office and asked about the purchasing some money orders. The suspect asked to purchase four money orders for undisclosed amounts of money. The Money Orders were produced and the suspect then reached into the front of his trousers and pulled out a black pistol. The Money Orders and an undisclosed amount of money were given to the suspect. The suspect then left on foot running from the Post Office towards Old US 1.

The suspect was described as a white male, approximately 45 yrs old, wearing a light colored t-shirt (possibly tan in color), tan pants, mustard colored hat with a big “G “ on the hat, big glasses, unshaved facial hair, and had a cut on his right hand. The possible suspect vehicle was a white Mitsubishi with a paper Enterprise Rental tag with black numbers. No one was injured in the incident. The US postal Inspector will be in charge of the investigation.
