SILER CITY MAN ARRESTED FOR FELONIOUS STRANGULATION

March 29- A Siler City man was arrested Thursday evening after Chatham County Deputies responded to a disturbance call at 58 Sam Dixon Road, Siler City in Western Chatham County. Didier Ivan Nunez-Borjas, 21, of same address was detained by officers after his girlfriend; Victoria Bates told officers that she was assaulted by him. Deputies further discovered that according to Bates, at some point during an altercation between the two, Nunez-Borjas strangled her with his hands.

Nunez-Borjas was charged with Assault on a Female, Felonious Assault by Strangulation and Filing a False report to Law Enforcement. Deputy Cory Zeller arrested him without further incident.  He was jailed under a $2,500.00 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in Chatham County District Court in Siler City on April 10.
