APEX MAN ARRESTED FOR FELONIOUS STRANGULATION

March 22- An Apex man was arrested Thursday morning after Chatham County Deputies responded to a disturbance call at 598 Gardner Road, Apex in Northern Chatham County. Chris Braxton, 24, of same address was detained by officers after his girlfriend; Meredith Baker told officers that she was assaulted by him. Deputies further discovered that according to Baker, at some point during an altercation between the two, Braxton strangled her with his hands.

Braxton was charged with Assault on a Female and with Felonious Assault by Strangulation. Deputy Matthew Morrison arrested him without further incident.  He was jailed under a $2,500.00 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in Chatham County District Court in Pittsboro on March 28.
