SILER CITY MAN ARRESTED FOR FELONIOUS ASSAULT

March 6- A Siler City man was arrested Tuesday afternoon after he turned himself in to authorities. Chatham County Deputies and agents from the Department of Social Services began an investigation last month in reference to child abuse case where Dalton Siler, 29, of 704 Airport Road, Siler City and his wife, Marthea Peoples were being investigated for suspicious bruises on their 6 year old child. Abuse allegations were substantiated and all children were removed from the home. Peoples was arrested last week for her involvement and Siler was arrested on Tuesday.

He was charged with Felonious Child Abuse Inflicting Serious Injury and Assault Inflicting Serious Injury. He was released under a written promise and is scheduled to appear in Chatham County District Court in Siler City on March 12.
