February 9- The National Sheriff’s Association (NSA) recently recognized Captain Mike Roberson of the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office for his completion of the First/Second Jail Supervisor’s Training Program. The NSA sponsors this program and is offered to enhance leadership skills and knowledge in the area of detention and the housing of inmates.
Captain Roberson had to pass 27 chapter tests and a final exam to complete the course. In a letter to Sheriff Webster, the NSA’s Jail Operations Coordinator, Aimee Welch stated, “Knowledgeable criminal justice personnel like (Roberson) understand the vital role of properly trained jail officials in the constitutional operation of our local jails.”
“I want to personally thank Captain Roberson for his commitment to raising the standards of effective leadership in the jail as well as throughout this agency. His dedication is second to none and I’m extremely proud of him”, Sheriff Webster said.
