SILER CITY MAN CHARGED WITH BREAKING AND ENTERING

Dustin StoutFebruary 3-A Siler City man has been arrested by the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office in connection with 2 Breaking and Enterings that occurred in southern Chatham County. Dustin Stout, 20, of 1461 Lamberts Chapel Road, Siler City was arrested on Saturday and charged with 2 counts of Felonious Breaking and Entering, 1 count of Felonious Larceny and 2 counts of  Injury to Personal Property.

On December 29th, Benji Gaines reported to deputies that B & G Gaines Oil Company was broken into and $400.00 in damage was done to the business. On February 3rd, Chatham County deputies were investigating a Breaking and Entering at 4702 R. Jordan Road, Sanford when they observed a suspicious vehicle in the area. Deputies stopped the vehicle and found 3 men inside and evidence of the crime. Detective Aron McIlvain obtained evidence on Stout in connection to the B&G Gaines Oil Company Breaking and Entering. Stout was one of the passengers in the suspicious vehicle and was charged with both crimes.

Stout was on bond after his arrest on January 26th by the Sheriff’s Office. At that time he was charged with 2 counts of Felonious Altering Serial Numbers. He was jailed under a $14,500.00 secured bond for these additional charges and is scheduled to appear in Chatham County District Court in Pittsboro on February 14.
