February 28- A ten month long investigation involving a sexual assault to a 15 year old minor child has lead to the arrest of a Philadelphia man on Wednesday. Mark Anthony Randall, 44, of 1304 Conesagto Street, Philadelphia was arrested by Philadelphia Police Department after discovering that Chatham County Deputies were looking for him since last year.
The investigation started in April of 2006 after the Chatham County Department of Social Services received a complaint of sexual misconduct on Randall and then referred the case to the Sheriff’s Office. DSS continued to assist in the investigation. The female child was a relative of the suspect’s and the incident allegedly occurred in the summer of 2005 when the friend was visiting the home of the suspect. Randall moved to Pennsylvania after the investigation began.
Randall was charged with 7 counts of Indecent Liberties with a Child, Felonious Child Abuse and Felonious 1st Degree Sexual Offense. He was jailed under a $450,000.00 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in Chatham County District Court in Pittsboro on March 7.
