February 23-Serena Singletary, 33, of 510 North 2nd Avenue, Siler City was the subject of a 2 week long Fraud investigation conducted by Chatham County Sheriff’s Detective Mike Szpunar. The victim, Dennis Greer of Siler City stated that someone was using his ATM Bank Card to withdraw money from his bank account. Singletary was developed as a suspect shortly afterwards and arrested without incident on Friday by Officers of the Siler City Police Department. She was charged with Felonious Financial Identity Theft.
Chatham County deputies transported her to the Chatham County Detention Center and during her processing, found 10.3 grams of cocaine on her person. She was then charged with Felonious Possession of Cocaine in a Detention Facility and Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Cocaine.
She was jailed under a $5,000.00 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in Chatham County District Court in Pittsboro on February 26.
