February 25-Chatham County Sheriff’s Detectives are investigating the death of a Siler City woman who was found this morning. Colene Person, 53, of 220 Fletcher Siler Road, Siler City was found dead from apparent stab wounds in her home at approximately 7:30 this morning by her husband, Robert Person.
Deputies are currently at the location and processing the scene. Suspect information will be reported as we get it. No other information at this time.
February 26- Chatham County Deputies arrested Bobby Lee Person, 28, of 220 Fletcher Siler Road, Siler City for the murder of his mother, Colene Person. Person took his mother’s vehicle to Asheboro and turned himself in to Asheboro Police Department yesterday afternoon. Chatham County Detectives questioned him about the murder and pursuant to that interview, Person was arrested. He is currently in the Chatham County Jail under no bond and is charged with 1st Degree Murder and Larceny of a Motor Vehicle. He is scheduled to appear in Chatham County District Court in Pittsboro today.
