SHERIFF’S ICE TEAM MAKES METHAMPHETAMINE ARREST

January 2- Deputies from the Chatham County Sheriff’s Interstate Criminal Enforcement (ICE) and Canine Units charged a Pittsboro woman with drug violations after a traffic stop was conducted last Tuesday evening. Deputies stopped Brittany Grispino, 20, of 377 White Smith Road, Pittsboro on US 64 in Siler City and found .5 grams of Methamphetamine in her possession after the Chatham County’s narcotics canine “Lightning” alerted on the vehicle. Officers also seized 1.6 grams of Marijuana during the search. She was charged with Felonious Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Marijuana.

A passenger, Jeffrey Franks, 28, of 1260 Harold Andrews Road, Siler City was cited and released for Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  Grispino was arrested without incident and jailed under a $1,200.00 secured bond. Both are scheduled to appear in Chatham County District Court in Pittsboro on January 3.
