January 22- Brenda Johnson of 426 Jerry Frye Road, Bennett was taken into custody by Detective Mike Szpunar of the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office. Johnson turned herself in upon hearing of an outstanding warrant for her arrest for Financial Transaction Card Fraud. The arrest was the conclusion of a six week long investigation by the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office, Criminal Investigation Division. The arrest was based upon evidence provided by Capital One card services and victim, William Johnson. Ms. Johnson is accused of utilizing the personal information of victim and ex-spouse, William Johnson, to obtain and use a Capital One credit card, charging over $500 in merchandise, then defaulting on payments.
She was released under a written promise and is scheduled to appear in Chatham County District Court in Siler City on February 13.
