PITTSBORO MAN ARRESTED FOR FELONIOUS ASSAULT

David SnipesJanuary 20- A Pittsboro man was arrested Saturday after Chatham County Deputies found him outside his home on Pittsboro Goldston Road after they had received a report of a disturbance at the residence. Merissa Porter-Hill reported that her boyfriend, David Snipes, 33, of 495 Pittsboro-Goldston Road, Pittsboro assaulted her several times with a cooking pot and his fists her in an altercation they had around 7:30 pm on Saturday evening. She was able to get away from him and get to a room in the house when she called 911.

Deputies responded to the scene and located Snipes outside the home with Ms. Porter-Hill’s cell phone. Deputy Todd Zogopoulos arrested Snipes without incident and charged him with Felonious Assault With a Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury and Interfering With Emergency Communications. He was jailed under a 48-hour lockup and is scheduled to appear in Chatham County District Court in Pittsboro on February 21.
